Nick Dourado came to the studio to help me experiment with photographing silhouettes. Nick is a wicked smart engineer who is using sonar technology to understand how ice in the Minas Passage could be a risk to tidal energy equipment. He’s also a talented multi-instrumentalist who plays in one of my favourite bands Special Costello. He brought his saxophone and played it the entire time – while expertly balancing on a stool. I love the shape it makes – and how the brass picks up the light.
